No need to smash windows apparently, they can get in without setting alarms off  :scared:

Oh at least they have to smash the window to attach the cable then which should set off the alarm. So you have some chance..

VW will have to do something terrible for there reputation.

Well a laptop and a cable apparently is needed, Disklok time i think LOL

I would like to know how they steal them. An insurance company will not pay out if you still have the keys. I believe that they cannot be driven without keys. They can be stolen by towing lifting etc but not driven. Can someone enlighten me ?

Oh right ok so they need to get in to attach the cable which will mean a smashed window and alarm going off. So not that easy. :surprised:
Thats what worries me to no insurance payout, i cant belive its 'easy' must require quite alot of time to get around the imobilser?

It takes about 2 minutes all in apparently !

With no specailist equipment? Jesus! Cars will be disappearing all over the place. Time to change the car i think  :surprised: :surprised: :surprised:

Are we sure these people are real and not from another planet? They can get inside the car attach a laptop and steal it within 2 minutes? This is starting to sound a little unbelivable.   :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I would imagine that it is technically possible for highly skilled engineers to do in the right enviroment, but if we are talking about your average chav scum with a dell laptop and cheap ebay cable then its time to get shot...

I cant be arsed with one you to much bulk to carry around. Plus they probably have a way of removing them in less that 30 seconds using magnets..  :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL:

Its a SILVER version sized "small" (upto 39cm steering wheels) and fits ED30 steering wheel perfectly (used on my MK4 previously).

Its not much of a ballache to use, and it fits easy enough behin passenger seat n footwell where i keep it, its vertainly easier to use than filling out insurance forms anyway. Its more of a deterrant as a  determined t-leaf would get it if he wanted but im sure there are easier targets out there without it.

the tool in question cost a few thousand, so your average run of the mill toerag isn't going to have it.

i found the small size up to 39" rubbed on the leather steering wheel so better of going medium

What worries me is the ******* breaking into your house while you sleep to steel your keys.

I can accept them stealing with keys as they will need to break into the house... But if they can just nick of the drive in 5 minutes in the middle of the night with no alarm going off!!!

VW will have to act...
