What kind of fuel pump has the MK6 GTI got then? Is it still mechanical but in a different place?

For me I would prefer the GTI with the later tech but like somebody else said if it was GTI or ED30 Mk5 it would be ED30 every time.

I love the look of the MK6.

The mk6 has a mechnical hpfp with 150 bar pressure output (iirc is run off the exhaust cam) but instead of a cam follower has a roller follower that doesn't have the issues the mk5 cam follower has.
Without traction power is nothing!

Well went to my local dealer and not exactly falling over themselves to sell the ED35 :surprised:
Had a bit of a nosey round a black Mk6 DSG,which was basically the spec I was looking for at £26K
Didn`t feel too different to my own MK5 GTI,however I didnt drive !!
Mmm a bit of serious thought needed now as I am not 100% sold on the MK6,perhaps a long test drive might change my mind????
They are quoting 20 weeks delivery time for an ED35!! and 14 for a standard MK6 GTI.
They also claimed that the DSG gearbox is very popular and it could be longer for that version!!

Just had another look on the Vw car locator website and the price of second hand cars varies hugely
Incredible the difference between similar specs ages and prices all through the VW network, some greedy dealers out there!!

Went and had a chat to dealer about the 35 yesterday.
Drove a Scirroco too, purely to try acc, which I now know is not worth the £800 as an option on a Golf.

They suspected that the 35 would take a few months to come through and would likely be longer for DSG.
Got the twitch for less pedals and more doors currently.
That said still love my 3dr/3 pedal Ed30 though. Especially modded a bit..
