Mk5 Climate Control Panel Stripping
« on: November 21, 2011, 10:46:51 am »
Has anyone ever taken the Mk5 climate panel apart?

Basically Im wondering if I can easily swap the knobs onto my Octavia, which doesnt have the chrome trim.

Obviously the LED colours are different, so I'd only buy the VW unit if the knobs can be seperated.

I've disconected the panel when fitting bluetooth and MDI etc behind the dash for better access, just plugs in and out.

Not to sure about stripping it down, but I'd say if you made a mess of it, you could probbaly pick another one up of ebay handy enough.

I've had my panel out too, but I'd rather know before I start incase I damage it. They aren't the cheapest things to replace!

Hi mate, yes it can be stripped down completely to the board :happy2: I think the screws are some thing like a T8
