That's insane, love it

I'd like to see that against a Turbo S with PDK or a GTR in a straight line.
Or, against the M3 round a track!

Pete I reckon the A1 would beat both the GTR and Porsche, the A1 being alot lighter and with 500bhp what would it take to match it :scared:

The short wheelbase is going to make it pretty twitchy in corners though :scared:

plus its front wheel drive only.

It must be awful to drive..... no one else thinking that? having all that power and barely being able to use it?

Nope, I'm with you, the ingredients don't add up, regardless of the engine.

After reading this months Evo about the new BMW 528i/328i being in-line four turbos,
does it mean the end of 5 and 6 cylinders where things like the 2.5TFSI and straight 6
block are concerned too? I do think it's a massive, massive shame should it be the case

Why that?

It does mean the end of non-turbo straight six at BMW.

Sadly in future there won't be 325i or 330i straight six anymore
due to politics and marketing based on CO² and milage.

Sadly why?

The newer engines give better economy and better performance. The only downside is noise, and that can be engineered (new M5 for example).
