its always hard to diagnose problems without being in the car and hearing the noise and even then most times its a guess to what it could be. Suggestions made are just suggestions and will not always work. Try the cheapest options first i.e the silicone spray and go from there. Just talking from personal experience from squeaky noises. I have changes

- arb bushes
- drop link bars front and back
- suspension top mounts
- Steering rack and track rod ends
- Engine mounts
- New subframe bolts and spacers

And i still have noise. all i have left is wishbones. Although it may be my rack that is new but may be faulty and vw are going to take it back and have a look.

Sadly noises can transfer though the car and finding its location is a right pain.. hopefully for you its a nice simple fix so fingers crossed for you  :drinking:

Hi there,

Resurecting this one with a numpty question.  Does anyone have a picture of where to place the silicon spray once the wheel is off.  Have not long had my GTI so just getting to grips with it.

Cheers.
