Looking back at some of the posts on this thread, for info I live just outside Ipswich and have bumped into you Illyun at the Shell garage on a few months ago when you were in your MkII 16v. I also saw your immaculate MkI and R32 at the dealers at the MkVI launch in Jan.

Cheers,

PITCH3110, Thanks for the link to register as Suffolk member. News just in I have had a call from the local VW dealer this morning that they have MKVI GTi in as a demo, its Red and on 18's. So I am off to have a look later on. Cheers, EDi30

I have been down to the local dealers today and not only had a look at the MK6 GTI but also had a drive!  :driver:  What can I say its a GTI, very similar to the MKV Edition 30 to drive in terms of handling and the way it feels through the steering. I had a short drive and as it was brand new (only 10 miles the clock) so I did not push it at all. The engine was very tight as you would expect and as a result felt sluggish in comparison to my 13,000 mile ED30. The ride was a little better (this one had the adaptive chassis control) it was also a little quieter and from the inside and felt a bit more up market. There is nothing radical about is, just improvements here and there. I think it is a very desirable car and should sell well. Would I have one..............of course I would  :happy2:

Here are a couple of pic's (sorry about the quality, phone camera)
