Looking to buy a pressure washer
« on: November 16, 2011, 08:16:02 am »
I'm looking to treat myself to a pressure washer and just wondering what you use and what you could recommend. Have been looking on the Karcher website and came across this page where they do refurbed ones.

http://www.karcheroutlet.co.uk/products/maincat.asp?mid=Pressure-Washers

Only thing is that there are loads to choose from. It will mainly be used for washing the car plus would like the ability to snow foam in the future so just need pointing in the right direction really.

Thanks  :happy2:

I went from a karcher 3.99m to a nilfisk c120.3 and the pressure seems about the same, but with a higher flowrate - car gets clean/rinsed quicker!  :happy2:

Was also cheap compared to a brand new karcher 3.99 (£85 compared to £150) and would thoroughly recommend this model!

I have the C120 too and love it. As above, flow rate is more important than pressure.

Seems like the Nilfisk wins hands down lol so when I have abit of spare cash I will treat myself to one. Could anyone also point me in the right direction for the correct foam lance to use. Or will the foam sprayer bottle do?

Foam is produced by a mixture of air and solution with pressure. Most foam bottles that come with pressure washers are crap and at best produce a watery shampoo mix that comes off the car within seconds.

Look at any proper snow foam lance and make sure you get the correct fitting, though it can be changed.

You want to Kew/alto fitting

I use a Nilifisk E130.2 which I've had now for nearly 3yrs, must say its been superb, not cheap though I think I paid around £165 from cleanerstore but well worth it.
