Hi,

What colour spring should my forge dv be using on a Stage 2+ Gti? I think green, but what are people using?

On WOT it seems as if its very noisey, like a high pitched squeel, I'm assuming the DV is playing silly buggers.
I'm putting it on the rollers soon at Jabba, to see if all is well :)

Ring Forge and ask for John and he will know, off the top of my head I changed mine for a yellow one but could be mistaken

Not sure what spring my one has in it but was fitted back when i had stage 1 put on the car so i'm guessing not the right one now  what difference does it make running the wrong spring? Did it make a big difference if any of you changed it over?

Thanks
Dave

It should be a yellow spring on remapped vehicle and green spring on a standard vehicle.
Basically the yellow spring is a stiffer spring. It keeps the valve shut when on boost.
If you have a green spring on a mapped vehicle, the spring can be weak and the valve could open on boost, thus loosing boost
I hope that helps

At high revs and boost, there is a loud hissing sound, sounds similar to the DV when letting off, so only presuming since going from Stage I to II, the original green sprinsg is still in it. As said, it's going to Jabba soon for a power run and check over, fingers crossed all is OK :)

Hissing maybe one of the vacuum lines to the dv split. I have suffered this before.

Is it a yellow spring regardless of how much the car has been tuned? Got mine fitted with a stage 1 map so am i right in guessing it should already be a yellow one?

Thanks
Dave

Only way to tell 100% is to look at the spring as iirc the dv unit now ships with both green and yellow springs.
