Wirring noise from rear

getting a wirring noise from the rear its more of a wir wir wir noise so i think it might be caliper slightly sticking, is this an easy reapir?

My rears - Conti Sport 2 - are nearly worn to the TWI marks and they make the sound that you describe. Not bad they have done nearly 40,000 miles!  :congrats:

Seen the dealers change the wheel bearing thinking it was that,it turned out to be the tyre was out of shape

I have dunlops hate them road noise is the worst iv ever had from my tyres still have 5mm on the rears but may just have to get rid as its becoming unbearable fronts seem ok but the rears are alot worse

Yeah noise only starts when i get over 40mph, so will it be wheel bearing?

that would be my first port of call. all you need to do now is suss out which wheel it is coming from... or jack up each corner and give each wheel a wobble to see if they move at all. they should be tight so if one rocks a little thats your culprit  :happy2:

Just an update, I recently replaced both rear tyres (falkens) with some Vreds ultras, and the noise has gone.

The MK5 chassis does tend to eat rear tyres, and make them out of shape. It's happened on both of mummy mk5s.
