Hi everyone I've just fitted r32 leather interior in my 2007 golf

The seats came out of a 2006 golf and one side of the seat plug has more wires than the other

I need to get both working but for now what I need to do is power the lumbar support of the seat so I can adjust the lumbar support as it is set in a really bad position

Does anyone have a wiring diagram that could help me temporarly make a loom to adjust the lumbar.

I will get a loom from kufatec eventually when I have sourced a heated seat panel but for now I just need the lumbar to work

Many thanks

The lumber is only a power and a ground, just ground 1 wire and stick the other to a ignition live on the fuse box :happy2:

What kind of control panel do you have at the minute? Is it the digital one?

There's a couple on eBay of the non-digital/climatic type.

I will be doing this myself later in the week when my seats come  :happy2:
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.

No problems buddy.

I bought some seats on a whim this week, not coming until Tuesday (all going well). Then I'll have to double check what wiring they have before ordering the correct Kufatec loom, so it'll be at least 10 days before I will be on it.

I'm sure I've read some handy posts on here, and also the MK5 section of uk-mkiv's  :happy2:

Darren

Thanks for that pal. Do I jus need to run in to the fuse box to power it up?

Do I need to loop both seats together to get the lumbar to work or individually wire them? Many thanks

Well I have fitted my heated seats - was a bit of a pain in the backside in respect to the wiring but thanks to various posts on these magnificent forums, got there fairly smoothly as I knew what to expect.

Usual Suspect - As your seats are 2006, you probably need a 2007+ loom - my seats are stamped 03/2006 and I ordered a 2006 loom but have the newer wiring (one control box under passenger seat).

Basically, the plugs needed chopped and swapped over as one has more wires than the other, and this one must go to the passenger side of a RHD car - using the redundant five wires and the addition of three others of similar gauge to extend the loom, it then just needs run in.
I used fuse sockets 34, 37 and 8 (the last one I'll have to check as the recommended 4 and 7 is in use and don't want to start splicing factory wiring if it can be avoided - but for now it works the system and is only 5A).

I didn't have to swap any pins between plugs under the seats, and the pinouts for the climate control panel worked as per Kufatec instructions.

Anyhow, I'm going to see what Kufatec say about not letting buyers specify RHD or LHD.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but Im in the process of wiring up my heated seats and looking for some more info.
Ive got the diagram from the funkmania page:
heated seats diagram

Ive read the post from Darren regarding pins, which I will cross check with mine:
Heated seats (topic 9516)
Under Driver’s Seat Connector

Pin 1 – Thin white wire.
Pin 2 – Thin blue and yellow wire.
Pin 3 - Thick red and white wire.
Pin 4 – Thin grey wire.
Pin 5 – Thick brown wire.
Pin 6 – Empty
Pin 7 – Empty
Pin 8 – Thin grey wire which is a direct link to pin 9 on same connector.
Pin 9 – Thin grey wire which is the link to pin 8 and a thick grey wire in as well.
Pin 10 – Empty

Under Passenger’s Seat Connector

Pin 1 – Thin white wire.
Pin 2 – Thin blue and red wire.

Behind Climatic unit

This has three wires going to it: This is different with lumber support
Thin Blue and yellow wire – going to pin 15 of the 20 pin connector.
Thin blue and red wire – going to pin 11 of the 20 pin connector.
Thin grey – going to pin 16 of the 20 pin connector.
I have connected this myself as said by the kufatec instructions.

Ground
Thick brown wire – connected to earth point on drivers side at bottom of a pillar.

Wires I have left to connect to fuse box and Central electrics module
Thick red and white wire. Red/Yellow SC37 fuse box
Thick grey wire. S44 central electrics its number 1 relay at the front?
Thin grey wire. SC34 fuse box
Double black wire connected together with one crimp. im not right sure with this
Double white wire connected together with one crimp. C-1 central electrics

Are the above wire colours for the seat connections from the seat side or the car side of the loom?
My seats are the same as Skard, with only one control box under the passenger seat.
The Kufatec loom is 2006, but same as Skard, looks like the driver and passenger parts of the loom need swapping over. Kufatec instructons are dreadful!

Just wanted some clarification on what to do next.
I need to extend the short part of the loom so it will reach the passenger seat and shorten the drivers side part of the loom so it will fit nicely to the Drivers seat.
Then there are the other wires.
Skard, do you have any wiring tables / pin outs / locations to help?
Which diagram from funkmania should I follow? the 1st or second?
I will take what I have so far and try to piece it all together, but any further info appreciated.

My final issue is that the guy who had the seats before me has chopped the connector off the drivers seat!! Hopefully I can order the connector and repair wires from VW and then I can carry on!

Thanks
Jason

The best way to do this is what Ed suggested...

Swap over the 'under seat' looms on your front seats, and use the Kufatec loom as it is (i.e., your control box now sits under the drivers seat). Then when putting the pins into the heater panel, swap them over too. It saves cutting up the loom.

I chopped the loom and it works fine but would do it this way next time.

As for your chopped plug predicament, I've seen looms for sale on eBay, but VW will be able to order in the repair wires/plug.

Hey Skard, thanks for quick reply!
Swapping the seat looms! Great suggestion! OK, I'll check the info for where all the other wires go and post up if I get stuck.
I will take pics and maybe do a how to guide to help others, as the kufatec instructions are pants.
Jas :-)

EDIT: Ive compared my seat wiring to the pin descriptions that Darren has given and the wiring colours do not match, on either the seat or the kufatec loom. I've got the part number for the the seat connector and repair wires so will get them ordered and swap the seat looms over (inc control module) and  go from there.

Skard, do you have a list of pin outs / wire colours for your car? Ours are a similar year build and so may be the same?
Thanks
Jas
