why does gti sit higher in the rear (pics included)
« on: April 13, 2009, 12:00:59 pm »
Does anyone know why the mk5 gti sits higher in the rear

I have koni fsd's and eibach pro kit but even on stock suspension my car was the same.

I have been contemplating changing springs after i went to ikea with the wifey and we had the car loaded with a few goodies and the rear of car sat a lot lower (no two finger gap) and the car looked so much better.

I know forum member neg has H&R springs with koni fsd and his ride hight looks great but i'm not sure i can justify spending another 260 pounds on H&R sport springs when i'm trying to save up for a double din unit( Any recomendations welcome) when i just got eibach pro-kit a couple of months ago.

Also can anyone confirm i won't have any issue with fsd's and H&R sport springs or can anyone recommend anything else.
Thanks :drinking:

Here is how my car sits now:

And how i want it to sit (photoshop)

As stated I can confirm H&R are fine with FSD's

Where did you get the Eibach springs from - I know its a while ago now but there was an issue with the rear springs making the car sit higher (Gaz went through all the trouble) and being as it was ongoing when I got mine I opted for the H&R's

invest in a fat chick for the rear, stuff her in the boot and feed her on chipy's and pizza

i was told by awesome that the fsd s raise the car so you have to compensate for that in the choice of spring , the pro kit dont lower the ed30 at all so your probably about stock height now ! sportlines may lower it a little more

The Pro kit should lower it slightly - the Ed30 and GTI both have the same suspension.
