MY05 GTI - battery light flickered on today.....
« on: November 25, 2011, 08:23:49 pm »
No change in performance (was driving in a 30mph zone  on the way home)

Car's got 46,000-odd (iirc!) and has just been serviced (standard filters, plugs & oil change)

Any thoughts? Alternator (in a worst case)

Dan

*edit* forgot to add, car is manual, standard trim/spec

Have you had can belt done?

What I'm getting at is if yes you should've had AUX Belt done too.
AUX belt drives your alternator.  If its slipping the alternator won't be charging the battery

Cam belt was done when I picked up the car.

TBH, not sure about the aux belt, but knowing my luck, the belt needs changing......

possibly slipping?
