We've also been looking for a new bed as the old mattress was giving Mrs C a bad back, we popped into Ikea just outside Manchester several weeks ago, and we've also plumped for the Sultan Haslum mattress plus bed and mattress topper. Just sorting out the carpet in the bedroom first then we will order it.  :happy2:

Was very impressed with it although it's not cheap and it isn't a UK size, although Ikea do do some beds in UK sizes  :smiley:

If you want bedding for the Ikea beds, try Laredoute as they do foreign sized stuff.

Avoid Ikea, their guarantee is worthless.

Ive had 3 ikea mattresses in 4 years, paid £500+ for the first, it failed. Same with the second now the third one has failed. They all collapse in the centre which is a common issue after reading online. They send out a 'specialist' for inspection each time that is just an underwriter that finds any reason to not offer a replacement.

Go for a Dunlopillo mattress.  They've been in the business since 1929, check out http://www.dunlopillo.co.uk/
I bought a king Chablis for around £1400, the best investment I've ever made. It has 2000 pocket springs and It has a hand tufted wool silk and cashmere surface with a 50mm talalay latex layer.
Put it this way, you really look forward to going to bed  :happy2:

I've got a Dunlopillo and its ace, the pillows are awesome too - cant stand sleeping in another bed now.
