I dont think the RS needs 4wd but if you do want it you can get a 4X4 conversion from Wolf and its a 15grand upgrade! My Rs Mk1 is amazing its over 350bhp and it can be a bit twitchy in the wet but aslong as your confident you can get the power down and give it some stick. My mate has an RS Mk2 which is over 400bhp and its soo different to mine, its a lot smoother and a lot more controlled, not as raw as mine, more refined, Mk2 has revo knuckle, mine doesnt but they both have a diff.

Big failure on Ford's part i think, would have loved the new RS to have been 4x4, would have made it the complete package.

I haven't read one review that has suggested that the RS would be better with four driven wheels - quite the opposite in fact. You've got to remember that it isn't a safe and predictable Audi. I think the added weight of four wheel drive would have harmed its agility and created quite a numb driving experience.

I wouldnt say that, look at polystar's blue c30. 4wd 400bhp, same engine as the RS isnt it. Meant to be an animal around a track. If done correctly i cant see how could harm it. Look at the ones done by andy gallagher up north. Absolute animals of cars they are.

&feature=fvwrel

I know has alot more bhp, but 4wd 300bhp RS as standard would still have been alot of fun imo.

I thrashed the nuts out of it, in and out of roundabouts and corners, giving it full power and it never lost traction. Never felt less than completely planted and stable. I really didnt have a problem getting the power down on the road. It must be one hell of a diff! Basically, 4wd would only be handy for winter conditions, and would compromise the car in all other situations.

Fun Golf: 2016 mk7 R DSG 3 door. Work Golf: 2015 mk7 1.4 TSI GT ACT 5 door.
Gone but not forgotten : mk2 Golf GTI 16v, mk4 Golf V6 4Motion, mk5 GTI Storm Developments Stage 1, mk5 GTI Revo Stage 1, BMW 330ci, Skoda Octavia VRS Revo Stage 2, BMW Z4 Sdrive35i.

I've been in a 'claimed' 400bhp RS and I have to say it was savage!! My bum dyno told me it was quicker than my ST2+ Eddy.......  :popcornsoda:

400bhp RS… that would cane a stage 1 RS3 wouldn’t it? I think the Focus RS has a 100kg weight advantage over the RS3.
Looks like Revo also do a Stage 4+ for the Focus RS which gives 425bhp. This is still on the original turbo as well.  Now I can imagine that absolutely wiping the floor with any stg2+ eddy.

Has anyone actually been up against a 350+ bhp Focus RS in their 2+ eddy?

A Stage 2+ DSG car will compete, but manual will struggle when north of 400bhp in the RS..

My friend has a pretty famous one it's about 430bhp, felt fast but not brutal, once my Eddie gets back from revo Were going to compare, he's happy to see how things pan out and is up for a play
