Try these guys, think they are partly owned by O2 and have very similar prices.

I see Plusnet does manage traffic and they are quite open about it but how are torrent downloads even with the Pro addon?

You can have O2 anywhere where you can have a BT landline. Yeah you have to pay a small line rental fee but it's not the end of the world and O2 broadband is so good it really is worth it. Their customer support is second to none.

Not according to O2, they have confirmed that they are unable to provide a service to my new house because the local exchange isn't LLU enabled.

According to samknows.com I have the choice of either BT, Plusnet or Primus

Haven't had any problems with plusnet and the speedtouch router. Infact I can't remember the last time I've rebooted it.

Pro on Plusnet is awesome; the best service I've had at home, or in fact anywhere.  I'm sure you can get cheaper broadband, but I haven't found anyone that gives more real-world speed.

For example my mate has Infinity at his house, which in theory is much much faster. But if you try to use iplayer or download stuff at 7-8Pm the service is very slow. Plus he gets random packet loss and drops in service.

It's all about traffic shaping...

Cheers, I think I'm going to go for Plusnet Extra Fibre with Pro add-on... at £26.49 a month it's actually one of the cheapest fibre packages I've found and has a good monthly usage amount too unlike some other ISP's.

How long after ordering does the engineer come round? :happy2:

Eccie when are you due to be connected?would be good to get your initial thoughts on that deal.

Dragging up an old thread so that I can give some feedback on my recent switch. Been up and running 2 weeks now.

Transfer to new supplier went very smooth, I got a nice N modem/router which works well, my download speed is around 6 Mb/s (which is what I was getting before) and the upload speed has improved slightly to 0.80 Mb/s - which for you folks on cable is still very slow, but I'm stuck on an old exchange out in the sticks!

So far it's been a positive experience (I have no affinity to the company) and it was a cracking deal, for me
