My Black 2006 Golf GTI DSG
« on: October 06, 2014, 08:06:38 pm »
Hi All,

I bought the Golf two weeks ago from Julian (j400UK). It is my first turbo car, I came from a 1.4 Lupo 75bhp (which will be for sale as soon as my number plates are transferred across) and this is a huge step up!!

It is a 2006 Golf GTI (BWA engine) in LC9Z (yes that's right, the best colour :P). I really need to detail the car, the body work definitely reflects the cars age.

The optional extras included are:

- RNS 310 touchscreen Satellite Navigation system with AUX input and 2012 Tele Atlas maps
- Cruise Control System
- Multifunction Steering Wheel with DSG paddle-shift
- ‘Highline’ Multifunction Display

My plans for the car are:

- Cam follower replacement
- Stage 1 R-tech remap
- Aftermarket Xenons with H7 HID kit
- Tint rear lights

Here are some photographs courtesy of the for sale advert:

Thanks for looking,

Irfan

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out with the improvements you've got planned! Xenons and a remap had been on my to-do list but I never got round to it.

Lovely car mate.

How do you find the rns310. Looking at one as a 'budget' alternative to the rns510.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

JonnyM92 - In terms of the RNS 310 - I quite like it, find it surprisingly good - the SD card slot is all I use, it came with the 2012 maps on. I updated it from SW 0227 to 0357, this improved the sound quality and more importantly displayed the speed limit in the top left corner of the screen!!!

Teamed up with a high line cluster, the navigation is ace - really enjoying the car at the moment (High line is something I would recommend)

After I get the cam follower replaced and previous car sold, I will be on the phone to R-tech  :laugh

Thanks,

Irfan

A few updates of the mods/work I have taken photographs of:

Baby on Board sign when my son was born

Had the cam follower changed at 100k miles, this was the condition:

I have also changed all the interior bulbs for LEDs and installed MTEC H7 bulbs and Number Plate LEDs.

I have some LED sidelight bulbs on order and waiting for Depo Xenons to come back in stock!

R-tech Stage one booked for 25/11
