Emergency Brake Flash Light.
« on: December 06, 2011, 12:11:22 pm »
I was reading through the following thread regarding activating DRL using the fogs and noticed the above was shown as having been activated on a screen shot.
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,38595.0.html

Can anyone tell me firstly, does it pulse the brake lights quickly if higher than usual pressure is applied or is it activated if the pressure is applied for a set length of time??

Can this be activated on any age / spec of Golf or is a specific controller required??

Does it work like this?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, it looks great and will certainly catch your eye hopefully making it safer.
First time I seen it was when watching a bit of footage of the new M5 and 911.  :jumping:
Fingers crossed it's an easy mod.

I'll have a bit of that!!  Especially like the way the hazard light come on, saves trying to reach for the switch at the same time as avoiding something or coming to a standstill on the M25.

Right where is Darren!!
Need to find out if it can be coded on my wife's Golf and if not what needs to be changed to allow it to work.

This trick only works on 30byte controllers so even if you have the highline 23 byte module it will not activate,

On the golf if you brake suddenly the hazards flash about 3-5 times and only go has fast has if you pressed the hazard switch.

Ah, I knew you would know.
Will it also pulse the the brake lights as per the video posted?

How much would you expect to pay for a 30byte controller and do you have a part number by any chance??  :happy2:

Thank you!

Is there anyway to pulse the brakelights as well Eddie?
In the footage posted by Mo, the Mk6 pulses both, could a Mk6 controller be fitted to a Mk5 to allow this function to be enabled?

Thank you!

What bit of the scan do I need to check and what piece of data would tell me that I can activate this function?
