Stop my balls banging!!

I'm talking about the stupid rubber balls that hang from the parcel shelf.

 I am an inch away from cutting them off, what a stupid non-German solution, every time I go round a bend or over a bump they crash into something.  Has anybody found a good solution to fix this?

The way I did it was tuck them under the netting and then buy them tiny tiny black cable ties, cable the string to a piece of netting, nice and tight, cut of the end and it's sorted. never had a problem since, plus you can't see the cable tie at all!

There's a solution where you use some retractable clip but it was too visible for my liking!

You have no elasticated net under the actual shelf? Mine came as standard so it's possibly a GTi thing, but this helps as you can just tuck the balls into that!

I wonder if velcro will stick to the underside of the parcel shelf?

Buy the netting and become OEM+ :P

Personally I don't think velcro will hold when you open the boot I can see it balling the balls of the velcro so whe shut your balls will be back banging around! :jumping:

Thanks for the link.  I just don't see me every using the netting, and whats with all the retractable belt clips!!!  All that extra weight is going to slow my car down.

What was wrong with the MK4 system, I'm going to see if I can copy that.

never had an issue with them... to be fair even with the stereo on the lowest setting you can't hear them bang  :confused:

Wasn't the MK4 on a retractable system? So even when boot was shut there was still tension pulling the balls up? unlike the 5 which just has the hook and balls?



I am being immature and smirking every time I refer to balls!
