How much does the gti weigh?

as the car is now mate as in my sig   Mark said mine about bang on to what he gets all the time

Ah ok cool, think I need to get mine on the corner weight scales again, see how much it is now..

The 5 door is listed as being the same weight as the 3 door, not sure if thats true though. Those figures seem to show it could be..

i think they could be the same as there is still weight in the rear qtr with impact beams and glass and interior plastics and  mine was full to the brim in fuel

Book figure for the weight of a GTI is 1328kg for a manual or 1347kg for a DSG.  For an Edition 30 the figures are 1357kg and 1376kg respectively.

Thats dry though, no coolant, oil, fuel etc etc.. There is usually about 25KG in fluids and other bits that they dont quote on the figures, but interesting that they say the ED30 is 29KG heavier than the normal GTI.. Why would that be??

Yeah, could even end up being a touch lighter as there is less glass..

im going to put mine in at 1325 then as ive done a few weight saving bits
