These are 18" Monza 2's (Diamond cut finish, graphite inserts)

The Monza Shadows off the MK6 are the same but with black inserts rather than graphite

The Monzas are 17" with a normal paint and lacquer finish. Easier to refurb, but make the Golf look a bit like a Dinky toy IMHO.

yeah i agree GTIAN, the 17's are a bit soft, the Monza II's 18" look a lot meaner!

im gonna be getting the above set of alloys for £200, does that seem pretty reasonable to you guys? (all with tyres, about 30% tread)  it does look as if at least two wheels will need to be fully refurbed but can always do that at a slightly later date.

The problem with sticking them on over the winter without a fresh refurb and laquer is that they will end up with white worn!

I'd get them refurbed. I was quoted 80 quid a corner. Mine are getting done in Feb when the car is off the road for service and upholstery work. They take longer to do than normal. Mine are going to be sent off on the Monday and returned on the thursday.

By the way, 200 is a great price if they are OEM. they are 500 pounds a corner new from VW!!  :surprised:

The wheel on bottom right of picture looks like a rep! Look at the stud holes! Also not all genuine monzas are made by bbs, ronal took over production and there are tiny differences between them! Bit of a mine field when buying monzas as reps can also have same stamps as the real thing!
