Lowering on BBS VZs Advise please

Hi,

I'm after buying a set of lowering springs for my golf GT TDi 170.  Ideally i want Eibach as i have heard of their excellent ride quality.  However i have got 18" BBS VZs with a ET44 offset with 225 tyres.

Does anyone know if they will rub/scrape?  I really don't want this at all.

I had VZ's and H&R springs on my last GTI, I didnt notice any rubbing issues!

I run eibach springs at the moment with wheels that have a more aggressive offset than yours with no rubbing issues ! Springs are very good you won't regret buying them.

On Weitec Hicon GTs. Only get problems when my 95kg gym buddy sits in the back, but I very very rarely have ppl in the back

This is mine - im Running Eibach sportlines

My wheels are ET45 18" x 8J

Only very occasionally when 5 up, the rear wheels catch the plastic wheel lining but it doesnt really concern me nor cause any damage. Its the tyre catching the plastic.

And ive done the front wheel arch screw mod which you'll need to do. Very easy to do and takes about a minute!

Yes there sportslines i run 8.5x18 et 40 front and 9.5x18 et 45  rears but my tyres are 35 profile! currently its running original monzas but check the link for pics both standard and modded - http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,29743.0.html

I have the H&R springs and I've never had any rubbing at all! Even with the car full.
I'm running 19x8J ET45 monzas with 225/35/19 Conti's 

The screw delete mod in the front is a must though

I'm thinking about lowering my GT sport too,liking the pics of whom have already done this mod.

Mind my stupidity whats the front wheel screw mod?
