Well I get back from the 1st snowboarding trip of the season (Les Deux Alpes) on christmas eve, landing about 1pm, quick trip home (about 30 mins) have a shower and jump straight in my car and drive to Norfolk to Mum n Dads (around 3hrs from Manchester).

Then its Xmas with Parents for a few days before off to do my own thing again for a few days and then back to Manchester for New Years Eve and then another trip back to Norfolk when I go back to work on 3rd.

My first Xmas off in three years!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Nothing. Xmas is cancelled, again. Havent you heard?  :xmassmiley:

In all seriousness, the wife and i are trying to save every single penny we can at the moment to buy a house. So we arent even buying each other token gifts. Let alone all the other poor sods in my family. Oh well. Told them all not to get us anything either.

I even cancelled the order for our Polo GTI earlier in October, and bought a cheap as chips Fiat 500 from work as a daily, and its absolutely fantastic. I was so so tempted by an Abarth at work last week, but at this stage it would be pointless.

Good chance I'll be spending mine on an oil rig so Christmas day has been moved to 29th, it's pretty sh1t but I'm not religious and it's part & parcel of my job.  If I blag it and get home early then I'll be singing "driving home for Christmas" until my lungs give in :)

Best wishes everyone :)

The plan is to relax. The reality will sadly be far from it.
