mpg and decat

when i go to stage 2 and fit a decat will it affect my mpg

depends if you drive it or not.

yes it will. more power = more fuel.

Some say that you can keep it pretty even as you change gears earlier due to more power lower down. But as soon as you decide to push forward all that hard work will be wasted.

I've not noticed any major change in consumption, it feels like it accelerates faster though  :driver:

I gutted my milltek. I would say i have lost 2mpg on route to work, worth it though would recommend the mod. Stevie.

Black 2007 GTI Manual, Stage 3 K04, R32 Bumper/Exhaust, WALK, adj rear ARB, KW1's, Twintercooler, Twintake, 18's (winters), 19's (summer) modified dectane LED rear lights, NQSBBK, Forge dump valve, Xenon look headlights with 5000k HID, 3" downpipe with sports cat, TT wishbones, uprated HPFP, Sach Uprated Clutch, Quaife LSD, VT & THS Engine Mounts.
To be fitted: Reverse Camera & uprated headunit.

I bought the blueflame 3” decat.  stage 2 map and nuespeed p-flo.  36 mpg no probs and 30mpg average when ragging it out of every junction into 4th lol……

Just do it, my mum has a standard GTI and does the same MPG as mine so no difference just more power
