Tyres- again, oh no!
« on: April 15, 2009, 05:19:55 pm »

After replacing 2 sets of contis in a short space of time, I've decided to go for something a little bit cheaper when I replace them.
The Conti 3's are superb all rounders, but they seem to wear very quickly!!
What other tryes (18's) do other peeps recommend, other than the usual Michelin PS2 Goodyear etc..?
Heard good things about Vredestein, anyone running them?

Yeah, I was looking at the price of the Falkens, nice tread pattern too!

I've got Vredestein Ultracs on the Team Dynamic alloys. They are very good, cheaper than the bigger name tyres and I think they will last longer than the Conti's. I've had Conti 2's and 3's and must agree that although they are good in grip terms, for wear they are below average.
Golf R gone.

another one for Falkens.

Had conti's, GY F1 Asseys, bridges, kumho's, but a pair of Falkens on the front are match for any of those.

& £139 the pair. :happy2:

I wouldn't touch Falkens with a barge pole having had some nasty experiences with them. I've also had to ditch three Conti's over the years for deforming. Never heard anyone complain about them not wearing well though, they are harder than PS2s and GSD3s. I swear by Eagle F1 GSD3s and wouldn't put anything else on my car for daily use for the money.
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

I am using  Falken452's... and I like them, they seam to be waring better than the Avon ZZ3's that I had before. and my last set of tyres (Nankang) were shocking, I only got about 6k out of them, and one side wall exploded when I pumped it up one day!! crazy rubbish.
