using smoke machine to locate boost leak

As above has anybody used a normal smoke machine to find boost leaks? would this harm my engine or is there an easier way to find leaks?

Never heard of that before.

I'd say that even if it was safe it probably wouldnt work, as the leak would only be apparent under pressure (i.e boost)???

Hopefully someone will be able to give you a better answer  :smiley:

I had this done on an old Audi TT as i was convince i had a leak, it actually showed the dipstick tube was broken out of eye sight so it was worthwile :)

Had this carried out by R-Tech on my MK4 Anniversary. Very worthwhile for showing up any issues that cannot be seen easily.
