Probably alright on both, they are the ideal size for 8.5 width, rim.

Not, yet. But the ideal choice for a 8.0" or 8.5" rim.
9" is too wide though.

No comment. But not as bad as I think your trying to make out, Its within tyre manufactures recommendations, In fact 8.5" rim is perfect size for a 235 if you ask me.

8.5 - 9.0 are fine for semislick tyres as these are wider.
8.0 is perfect for a 235 street tyre,
Remember BMW sold the M3 E36 with the 7.5"+235/45 combo, Audi the A4 as well
and many manufacturers did the same.

RSTT Wheels they are called 8 spokes from a RS4 on 5x100 (they were optional extra on a mk1 tt). They are 8x18". R32 wheels are 8"x18, Why are you saying 7.5"? Are some 7.5"?

Because you're wrong. OEM R32 are 7.5Jx18 ET51.
Watch your own wheels from the inner side.

I have 225 40 on an 8J x 18 wheel and it fits perfect, I was looking at a set of 17" Audi Sport wheels which are 7.5J and are wrapped in 235, imo a wheel between 7.5 and 8.5 will be ok with a 235 tyre on it.
The mk5 R32 OE wheels are 7.5 by the way.
