Seen a Gti on auto trader with satnav...just wondering if the satnav is any good compared to a tomtom??? Are they touch screen??reason I asked is cause my e46m3 has factory fitted satnav but I find it really sh*te
Looking forward to yr replys
Depends on the age of the GTi, early ones had the MFD2 which is a bit slow and awkward to use imo, no 3D view, CD/DVD mapping and no touch screen..
Later cars will have the MFD3 (RNS510) which is a much better unit, touchscreen, hard drive, SD card slot, plays DVDs, 3D view and much faster and slicker to use..
Neither imo is as good at being purely a satellite navigation device as the mid range TomTom i have in my van, no full postcode search unless you have the very latest maps and firmware but as an entertainment unit with sat nav the RNS510 is hard to beat imo
