Is an RAC/AA Vehicle worth it?
« on: December 22, 2011, 12:20:57 am »
Hi guys,

about to buy an '06 DSG 70K 3 door GTI.  From a trader he tells me he previously leased the car as he owns a leasing company.  Im wondering if I should get one of these  AA/RAC inspections done.  Ive had a good look at the car and all seems well I've rung dealers and they tell me the car was fine whilst they serviced it and there was noting of note.

Im going to take a mechanically minded friend.  Im picking the car this saturday. Im thinking of taking the car to VW or a specialist to have a look over it.  Or just get the oil changed as the car has been sitting for a while.  The clocks still of an hour!

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

For the sake of £200 or so, I'd do it now as you've mentioned it. Could give you some bargaining power.  If, down the line, something came up, that could have been spotted, you'd be gutted. Or get a local independant to look over it.
