It's still a DSG AFAIK.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Yesss but I'm sure th experience was dulled by the car you were in and the engine you've got.

You could put a GT-R gearbox on a Micra, but you'd still be driving a Micra lol.

ETTO anyhow, in my eyes the DSG gives you the flexibility of a manual but with the convenience of a slush box, and in a like for like comparison it's faster and more consistent.

The only negative for me is the potential for expensive reliability issues, but as always you're more likely to hear horror stories because people are more likely to ask for guidance on problems. This is also offset by the fact the clutches can handle a remap

True, but when I got back into my manual and drove, it was like a pure melding of man and machine. When you do everything right - clutch, gear change, gas, steering - when it really comes together you just can't beat it.

I can also see why people go for larger paddle shifters.
