RNS 510 sat nav disc v4
« on: April 17, 2009, 12:19:49 pm »
Hiya

Has anyone used the v4 sat nav disc yet? I was wondering what the differences are between V3 and V4 and whether it's worth buying?

i think shaun was using it (182-blue) and said it wasnt that much different other than new roads.

It depends on your area i guess, i have never found with v3, there are any missing roads near me, and ive done a lot of driving with it.

There are no leaps forward in the postcode scenarior though, unfortunately

Is it the same as the Audi one, where you can't put full postcodes in?

Both me and Shaun are using it but there are currently some issue with TMC on it.

Also still there is no full postcode look-up  :chicken:

I've been trying to get my V4 disc now for several weeks.  Every disc that has arrived so far from VW is a V3 disc.

Where are you getting the V4 discs from?  VW haev told me that all VW dealerships shar ethe same central stock distribution centre - is that true?

TMC never works for me (I have MFD2) -although I was in France last year and it worked a treat (purple/yeloow roads denoting roadworks with a small men at work sign at either end showing the length of the works. why oh why do we in this country have a TMC which doesn't work when the rest of europe it does...

^^^^ all you need is a newer disc, the original MFD2 discs upto v3 didn't have the UK TMC license codes.  :happy2:
