Garage broken into - Not happy
« on: December 21, 2011, 08:41:29 pm »
Why me, why now!

Just noticed that my garage has been emptied of three tool boxes, trolly jack and axel stands worth at least £700. Looks like they have pushed the top right hand side of the garage door folding it back just enough to pop the latch at the top of the door. What really, and i mean really annoys me is that i need to replace my front brake discs in the next couple of weeks but have no kit to do it with.

I reported it to the Police but they said there isn't really anything they can do.

Cheers Rich,

The Police have bigger fish to fry so a garage theft isn't up there in their list of priorities and i completely understand. I have to say that as my Wife works for Thames Valley Police.

The is another reason we are moving out of this country.

The garage is about a 2 minute walk away from the house and this is the first time it has been broken into. I don't normally keep anything of value there but as we are doing some stuff to the flat in readiness to get it on the market i moved a load of stuff into the garage. I won't do that again.

THIS is not true. it's the police's job to investigate crime, end of.

sorry to hear about this mate, but as above at least it's just tools and not something sentimental

What did you expect the police to do then ?

Im sure they would have had a look for csi and done house to house if applicable and looked for cctv but if all are negative what do you expect? There is not a magic spell to point out thieves!

Sorry to hear about your tools - will insurance cover it? (hope so)

Complete scumbags.

I'm assuming you have home insurance?

I would move back to Germany tomorrow, I really must be more conscious of security now back in England.

Hope you get your things replaced without too much bother
