Noooob..... Diesel scum
« on: December 22, 2011, 10:19:43 am »
What's up.

Joined up today as I have a MK5... sadly not a GTI (one day) been into the vag scene for a little while and thought it would be rude not to get involved over here!

My DERV is pretty low in AP's, running black CH reps, de-badged / wipered etc, GT interior, some budget ICE and a few OEM upgrades.

so....

Hi!

ha ha. sorry, I love my diesel to be honest. It's a warm hatch with 50mpg, the way forward given the general cost hikes in living!!

If I could afford it I would spend a grand or so upping my power to GTI level, rather than purchase a GTI! It's more fun..... and I love leaving people in a black cloud.

are we still friends?

.... just to be clear, more fun in terms of the modifying process.... not necessarily to drive. I haven't driven a GTI so couldn't comment on that

Thanks Matto.

Yes I will do. Not got any particularly good pics, I'm waiting on a mate to do some pro shots in the new year. Here's a few from my RR thread on another forum...

how she started out...

I've heard A8 reps are making a come back...

My interior after some 3M wrapping and smarter gear knob / surround...

The terrible standard seats...

replaced with these...

GTI head lights, AP coilies and CH reps on and its sitting like this...

de-wiper and a couple of other minor bits brings me up to date..

thanks for looking. Next on the list are spacers for the rear's, prob 15mm each side, 205 40's so I can get the front down some more and hopefully anything else the missus lets me buy whilst we're saving for a mortgage and wedding!!

cheers mate. what you head unit are you going for? Got mine as soon as I got the car just for the sole purpose or Blue Tooth and reasonable sound, and it's now hooked up to my new sub and amp. I will be going down the OEM sat nav route when funds allow..... which will be a while... according to the boss...  :sad1:

that's a nice unit! The guy is called Humkar and this is the link to the item:

http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,35517.msg449323.html#msg449323

Cheers for that. I live in Dorset but I'll be travelling up to the midlands to visit family next week so could possibly collect it on my way.

Glad there's a few TDI folk here then! Torque and fuel economy FTW!!!
