Pirelli Edition - Modification Options
« on: April 17, 2009, 04:45:59 pm »
Good Afternoon, I've just purchased my first VW, a 58 Plate Pirelli Edition, at 30 yrs old I waited a while before I could get what I wanted. Now after 3 weeks of owning it my life is changing!

It started to change as I hunted down the perfect vehicle, now I'm finding myself buying cleaning equipment, searching the web looking at other 'hot hatches' stats such as Type R's ST's etc and checking every stat and taking pride in the Golf's.....

Now I find myself joining a forum, looking at modifications, and going through petrol like the Arabian oil fields.....

It seems like buying a new car (I had an old toyota carina e for 8yrs previously, long story....) is getting a bit addictive, (girl friend is noticing the loss of attention, taking a dislike to the car etc....)

Now the reason for my posting,

What is the deal with remapping a Pirelli edition?

As it is nearly brand new will it eventually rip it to shreds or is what I read true: that basically it contains the S3 engine and  the car and engine are quite capable of handling ~ 300BHP?

Also do i need anything else apart from what I can only describe as an 'odd looking TV remote' to do this upgrade or do I need to start looking at exhausts, sir filters etc....

Any comments welcome.....

Finally where does all this end, am I now set for a life of car ‘Tweaking’:jumping:

Cheers

IMO the pirelli should have come with a yellow stripe and yellow caliper brakes. Would have looked awesome IMO.

Then again, I think green would work too!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I agree with you...yellow calipers would have worked well on the Pirelli!

Its Diamond Blackpearl,  or metalic black in my book.

It's all standard at the moment, only a few thousand on the clock. Not yet had the chance to drive it agressively, I guess you guys/ girls know the best roads where you can push the cars.

I've seen on youtube some chap getting a 0-60 in 5.11 secsonds in a stock ed30 is this likely?
