Roof mounted aerial cable routing? No AM?
« on: December 19, 2011, 07:50:20 pm »
Hi,

I have a fault showing with the aerial on my car. Short to ground.

I have been reading that the car has 2 aerials one being the rear screen element and the other the roof mounted one.

The radio has no Am reception and vcds shows antenna 1 short to ground.

Going to take out the rns and check cable connections this weekend.

Can anyone tell me the route the aerial cable takes to get up to the roof? Just so I know what to strip out if necessary.

Are there any known faults with the aerials on the roof?

Cheers

If both antenna connections are plugged in then change them round, it sounds like the FM antenna is in the wrong plug??

Think i've sorted it.

The aerials cable were trapped behind the unit and with a bit of a wiggle it's up and running again. Put it down to a bad connection.
