Meguiars 1 step Headlight Restoration Kit
« on: December 25, 2011, 05:33:46 pm »

My headlights are cloudy at the top of the lenses, and seem slightly scatched in this area too.

Got this kit for Chrimbo, so I'm going to use it tomorrow, as long as it's not raining!

I'll take before, during and after pics so you guys can see how good it is (or not!)

Had a quick go with this this morning. I spent 15 minutes on each lens, and I'm really pleased with the results. Still a bit to do, but most of the greeny haze has gone already.

Dusty from the inside? Are you sure this isn't some sort of hazing that is actuallly on the outside? Do they feel rough or matt to the touch? I'd give them a thorough clean and then take a look under a magnifying glass.

Stonechips. Mine had some minor stone chips, and these have been reduced in size already, and are less obvious. I guess it depends how deep they are as to whether you can lose them completely.

I did mine yesterday while doing a paint detail on my car

I used the DA with a medium (orange) foam pad and Merenza compound followed by a qualty sealant - results look the same as yours  :happy2:

I'm glad we've found 2 good solutions to the problem then. They look horrible with that mouldy looking haze on them

I have finished this now, and I'm amazed at how good the finish is. They look incredibly good. Not quite brand new, but a million miles away from how bad they were. I mean, I was considering replacing them they were so bad.

I'll find out where my father-in-law got it from and post it, but it's a thumbs-up from me!
