Wouldn't reccomend it, it would mean applying a lot if force on the caliper slide bushes as you torque up the bolts, the whole way the caliper works is based on these bushes being in good nick and the pins being clean.

There's no real short cuts, get em off and split them properly. I torque them up on the living room rug so they don't get damaged
