Well I’ve now owned my
ED 30 for 8 weeks or so now…………….still loving it!
In that time have given it a few fairly quick detail cleans, but felt that when I had a spare few hours, the wheels deserved the once over!……they were overdue!!
Ended up taking longer & being harder to do than I first thought!!
After jacking the car & removing the front two wheels using a 'Laser' protective wheel socket, cleaning process was as follows......
Thoroughly soaked & rinsed both wheels & arches
Using ‘Redberry’ Wheel Cleaner (Ratio 4:1) sprayed wheels & left to soak for 5 mins, agitated using ‘AG’ Wheel Brush, then rinsed.
‘AG’ Intensive Tar Remover used to remove lots of tar deposits & old wheel balance pads
Repeated ‘Redberry’ Wheel Cleaner Process, ‘Megs’ APC wiped over both wheels & rinsed, then dried.
Wheels Clayed using ‘Chemical Guys’ Clay Bar Lite & ‘Last Touch’, rinsed & dried.
Wheels protected using ‘Collinite #476s’ Paste Wax.
Then attended to the arches…………
Using ‘Redberry’ Wheel Cleaner (Ratio 4:1) sprayed arches, calipers, shocks & suspension (staying well clear of brake discs & pads) & left to soak for 5 mins, agitated using stiff brush, then rinsed.
Applied ‘AG’ Vinyl & Rubber care to plastic inner arches.
Copper Grease was then applied to all wheel bolt threads, wheel face & centre ring, then wheels were refitted & bolts tightened to the specified torque.
Same process was followed for the rear wheels & arches…………
Front End Befores.....Front End Afters.....Rear End Befores......Rear End Afters......Overall, really pleased with the results, look much improved I hope you agree??
At least now, they should be easier to clean next time!!
Cheers
