Rust on wing
« on: December 30, 2011, 10:24:05 am »
I know there are other threads on this but i have discovered little bubbles of rust on the lip of my wing. I'd say about the middle, directly above the centre of the wheel.

Just spoke to the dealer and they suggest they wont cover this as it's not from the inside out. BS i say as it shouldnt be happening at all.

Anyone have any luck on this from the dealers? Any key angles in arguing that i should take?

cheers

Chris

It really does seem to be pot-luck with getting this done on warranty doesn't it! Which dealer OK'd the repair Chris if you don't mind me asking?

I took mine in, and the bloke came out with a thickness gauge to see if it has been previously repaired. Mine went off the scale, as it appeared to have been dinged and repaired previously, so no claim for me.

Sounds like they have fobbed you off massively, so i'd go back and use the experiences of others to get them to put a claim in to VW.

Does Stoke VW have a bodyshop? Nearest one I thought that did was Crewe
