bit of help is needed, on my old car i would just polish the car and then leave it but now i want a better job i have just polished it with Autoglym super resin polish and wondering what type of protection you would put on top of this to prolong the look and make it extra shiny?

Go crazy with layers of wax so it's protected right thorough the winter!

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/cat_4.html

Above is a link where you can see some good ones, the Collinite 476s seems to be pretty popular with most on here but there's plenty of others too choose from. Plus other places to buy, just thought I'd use this as an example.

Get yourself some applicator pads, MF cloths etc and away you go!

Andy.

There are a stack of great tips in here. Just browse on through & you'll get the idea. Applicators & MF cloths will be fine :happy2:

Another vote for collinite 476. Last for a long time too and makes cleaning your car a piece of cake.

Autoglym's EGP bonds well to SRP. You can then stick a layer of wax on top. Collinite works well. Did that combo as my first winter prep and lasted me over four months!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Didn't you say you had EGP? I'd just stick to that.

this will be sufficient enough instead of using wax

EGP is good but not as long lasting as collinite. So be prepared to keep reapplying it.

Rich, you need to read this: clicky

EGP lasted four months, comparable to collinite.

Fairy liquid is a bit harsh but yes. In all honesty, you could get an all-purpose cleaner like Stardrops or Daisy from the local supermarket and it'll be better.
