OEM Bluetooth FIT On MK5 Golf
« on: January 02, 2012, 07:09:27 pm »
Hi everyone am in process of fitting an OEM BLUETOOTH KIT to my golf to work alongside my RNS 510!

I have got all the bits to include:
module
Microphone
And wiring harness

The problem I have is my wiring harness has 4 wires which are loose without a connector please see pictures.
These wires being:
Earth
Live
Can high
Can low

What I wanted to know was where I can buy a new harness from or a harness to join to these wires as i dont like to chop and tap into the original loom.

Basically I want to make mine plug and play.

Many thanks

Either car systems on ebay for a new loom, or take a look at http://octavia-vrs.com/cms/content/integrated-bluetooth for the bluetooth fitting guide, this shows how the original looms like you have there can be made plug and play "ish" with some repair wires.

Thats what you want fella.....it even comes with the wires pre-made up with connectors so if you want to divert the mic into the sat nav (pins 1&7 /4& 9) to use voice control (vcds coding req'd) you can do so via their ''white'' A-D connectors.

Nice one fellas

Anyone have a good theory of making your own connector for the above 4 wires???

Many thanks

^^ Yes, take a look at the octavia site I linked, it lists the VW parts numbers for making your own connectors and joining these to the required wires on the back of the radio. You will need a pin removal tool for the quadlock on the back of the radio but it will be plug and play.

all you'd need is a bog-standard 'extension' cable for the quadlock connector which goes into the back of your HU

the brown wire is a ground, red/white is positive feed

can/low, can/high are what they say they are - pay attention to these however, they are twisted in a particular manner to reduce interference - something like one twist every 20mm or something (the exact specification is on my-gti.com) and away you go....

i've got genuine VW CAN bus repair wire about 9metres of it and one of these extension cables spare if your interested
