Some times its just not your day
« on: January 03, 2012, 09:14:53 pm »
Due to the fact I cant drive at the moment..........  (some of you may remember)

My car has been sitting in the garage for some months.

Afew weeks ago my sister needed a car for the weekend,  as she had forgotton to sort her tax out.

so I said she could insure herself on mine, which she did...........

long story short,    I wake up to this ..................

A lorry veered into her lane without indicating,

fortunately no one was hurt and there were police on the scene as it happened.

So insurace is sorting it, worst thing is I cant even drive it when I get it back to make sure everything is as it should be.

First opportunity ill get to  :driver:  is upto Sata Pod at the end of April.

Not good!  :sad1:

But to put a positive spin on it at least your sister is ok & by the looks of it, it's just the door. Rear quarter or cill damage would of been a pita to fix.

This is why I don't let anyone sit in the driver's seat of the car (except mechanics and MOT testers of course!).

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

sometimes it isnt but perhaps you should look at it from the view that it was your sisters lucky day though... if she had been in her car, would it had stood up to the lorry as well as your Golf?

It does look like wolverine has had a go :signLOL:

Unfortunatley there is more damage to the rear quarter, more than just a door.

Its true the Golf is a sturdy beast no sign of damage on the inside,

Was planning on killing two birds with one stone, and get the repair garage to fit a R32 style Cat Back with the rear bumper ive had in my bedroom for the last 5 months.

but having seen Nige's TBE @ BCS I might just wait a bit a do that.
