Rear caliper winding tool??
« on: January 06, 2012, 03:34:37 pm »
Has anyone changed the rear pads on a Mk5? Apparently theres a caliper tool needed to get the pads free from the caliper?
How much are they? Where do i get 1? As VW wont sell it me.

I bought something like this when I got the Golf and it is exactly what's needed, although now you know what to look for it could be cheaper.

Local motor factors stock them too.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

I did a walk through here.

Link.
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

Cracking tool, isn't it?

Tell you what, I also bought a wiper arm (small bearing) puller this week too - I must be treating my cars with more respect these days.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
