Brake Pad warning light!?
« on: January 28, 2013, 04:02:35 pm »
Took my car to my local garage the other day to have a puncture repaired whilst my wheel was both me and my mate noticed my front pads need changing!? Just wondering why i didn't get a light up on my dash!? I don't rely on dash lights normally but it's a bit harder to check these then checking your oil level! There's a wire and connector from the passenger Side that looks like it goes to the pad....

I've replaced the pads 3 times now, and felt they needing doing before any notification on the dash... no errors in VCDS either.

The low pad warning may have been coded out in 17-instruments
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Good thinking, I had my alarm coded out in VCDS!!  The alarm horn wasn't working too, perhaps a previous owner had issues under warranty and the dealer decoded it to save having to replace the horn!!?  As I had to drill the old one out... Defo going to check this, cheers  :happy2:
