Cruise Control - Resume previous speed?
« on: January 10, 2012, 12:26:37 pm »
I noticed when driving my dad's 07 Touran that one can resume the previous set speed even if the engine has been turned off and back on, which isn't the case in the golf or my last car with cruise control

just to confirm, it is normal for the last set speed to be erased when the engine is turned off, even if the CC lever is left in the 'ON' position?

Id have to check in mine, but I'm pretty sure it remembers the last speed providing the CC lever is left on ON though it may be both ON or OFF

On my mk5, the cruise remembers the last set speed and can be resumed by pressing the top RES button. Think it only remembers the current session, eg. If you turn ignition off, it is lost and will set to current speed.

As above, has to be set at the required speed after each ignition on but will double check tomorrow.

The white MFD actually shows the speed the cruise is set at, which is quite impressive IMO.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

This is what I was hoping to hear, and sounds the most logical solution...just found it odd that the touran was different!
