just had to buy new tyres
« on: January 09, 2012, 06:14:02 pm »
I went in to have a puncture repaired at my usual local tyre place Motorsport Wheels Leeds, but unfortunately when we looked the inside on all tread on all the tyres has perished so I thought might as well change them all.

I have gone for Uni Royal Rain sport 2 a friend was raving about them and puts them on all his top end cars, Mercs, BM's Porsche's so I went with them.

Any one tried them, any advice has to there wear time frames and grip levels on 18" wheels

Cheers

Darren

Dunno about the Rainsports, but I fitted Rainexperts to the daughters Ibiza and she's been very impressed with them (as was I). She's so impressed she hasn't hit anything since.  :driver:

Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

I put a full set of Rainsport 2's on mine last month, very happy with them, not a bad price either for a set of 225/40/18's.

Changed to Conti Sport 3 a couple of weeks ago & they are much better than the Vred Ultrac Sessanta that were on. Bit more comfort & a lot less road noise.  :happy2:
ED35. Standard factory condition.

I paid £360 for the tyres and got one of my customers to fit them for me as they owed me a favor.

Yea Camskill always seem to be the cheapest and they always deliver quickly, as the £360 included delivery too.

Hi Darren,
I've been running 18" rainsport 2s for about 15 months now, came recommended and fitted for £400 so you've not had too much of a raw deal!
Been happy with the performance on them and still decent tread left after about 12k miles of daily use.
Nice tread pattern too.  :happy2:

Hope your not disappointed with them!

Anyone wanting tyres in the Leeds/Yorkshire area drop me a message. Work for Landrover so can get tyres discounted. Just got myself 4 Vredestein Sessantas today at £88 each. Everywhere else around Leeds wants anywhere from £115-145.

Rainsport 2 are an excellent tyre, lots se them as a trackday wet tyre. Slightly soft sidewall that sone say introduce a floaty feel but I like them. Wear really well which is a bonus.

I've got Rain Experts on my Kangoo van, no performance vehicle granted but they hang on in there very well on wet roundabouts!  :happy2:
