Had mine done at my local VW, should have cost around £160 I believe but I managed to get a discount as they messed up a few things so owed me a favour or two!!

only work i'd reccommend the stealers is for the cambelt/waterpump job, otherwise shoddy workmanship as usual

DSG service is fixed price @ £169 at my local dealer group  :happy2:

If done correctly the DSG service involves both special tooling and a set procedure to refill the box so I'm happy to leave it to the dealers and also keeps my warranty intact which can come in handy having a DSG car...

DSG service is basically remove the drain/overflow plug and drain the old oil out, remove and replace the filter, refit the overflow pipe, gravity fill the box with fresh oil until it overflows, run the engine to generate heat in the DSG box until the oil temperature is between 35° and 45° (from memory) on VCDS and any excess oil has overflowed, stop engine and refit the drain plug. This gives you the correct volume of oil in the gearbox.

If the oil is overfilled or underfilled then the gearbox will suffer, and if the filter isn't changed at the required interval then similar result. If VW are willing to do this at £169 then it's gotta be a worthwhile investment.
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

Thanks for all the feedback guys iv had two quotes one from Simon at Vagco and also Steve at statllers both highly recommended by others on the forum iv had nothing but bad experiences from dealers and would never let them work on my cars again.
Both quotes are slightly cheaper than dealer too
