cambelt
« on: January 28, 2012, 09:21:13 am »
Since i bought my ed30 last April there has been a squeal when cold which i thought was the cam belt. So finally had it changed on Thursday and and the noise has gone. But when the mechanic showed me the belt it was white on the inside and the teeth were worn. The rubber felt hard and inflexible, has anyone else seen the belt turning white?

Mine wasn't white, but it was a pale, sort of milky colour!

I bet yours was one of the shyte yankie belts made by Gates - they are reknown for being crap.
