I had some continental contact 3 on the front... very low thread.. like less than 3mm.. anyway went to a local tyre place I ended up buying some pirelli p6000 brand new fitted balanced etc etc £130.. drove off wheel spinning.. they're a load of sh*t im going to take them back and have my old sh*ts back on? i mean who knows how old thes pirelli's are even though theyre brand new right? im thinking of ordering some new conti contact 3 from camskill any other suggestions???!  :confused: pissed off!!

If you look on the side of the tyre it will have a number stamped into it ie 2511 which means it was made 25 week of 2011--i have changed a few brand new pirellis over as the customer hasn't liked them

Biggest problem is you've gone from the current evo number 1 performance tyre to Pirellis family 1.4 astra tyre.  I'm shocked they even do them in GTI sizes tbh, get rid of them!

I've just got a pair of Goodyear asymmetric f1s fitted this afternoon,still have to wear them in before I know if they are good or not

I understand tyres need to be burnt in.. but I Just read all the reviews on these tyres there terrible!
my contact 3s were so quiet and great at handling..these are worse than budget tyres

Get rid. I had these as a "get me buy" on the front of my old mk4. What a load of crap. All they would do is find every ditch in south derbyshire. After that I always stuck with conti contactsport 2's and never had a problem.

P6000, seemed standard issue on the 306 gti6 back in the day. They were always referred to as ditch finders.  :signLOL:

which are better contact 3 or 5 as I heard 5 are a little noisy but the 3 are nice and quiet? im heading towards the 3s?
also would the car benefit much with getting new tyres on the back also even though loads of thread are left but theyre budget tyres?

P6000's are equivalent for Bridgestone's Touranza in my eyes, i.e. a tourer/motorway tyre with a medium/hard compound. Meant to last long for company car drivers!

I've got the Pirelli PZero Rosso assymetrics on, and they are superb, and really well priced.
