Hi guys spoke to the ebay rep guy, i asked him if he also does matt black and this is his reply:

"Yes I have stock of matt black, I have exactly 10 sets left in stock! If you can get how many sets you need I will give you a cracking price"

The price is 680 so ill see how low i can get them, so if anyone interested let me know, they come in all the genuine VMR colours.

Did you ever get the wheels in the end?

I love the VMR 710's. I was pining for these last year but couldn't afford them.

I will most likely go for a set of the 18's in hyper silver later this year (can't justify the total cost inc tyres for the 19's and also the reduction in ride comfort).

What size tyres would I need for the 18x8.5J alloys? 235 or 245?

I'd probably go 225 so you don't change the rolling radius. Plus depending on the offset there's less chance of rubbing

But I currently have 225 on my Monza II's which are 7.5J. Won't the 225's stretch too much on the 8.5J's?

Have a look at the Cades Bern Rims  :happy2: (very much like the VMR710)

A friend of mine had the 19" Bern wheels on his mk4 R32. The quality is really good, and for £500 for a set of 19's they are great value.

not really. think about it, 8.5 inches is only 216mm so you shouldn't get any stretch whatsoever.

here's my 225s on 8.0 wheels and there's absolutely no stretch at all:

I am a VMR dealer, but the shipping and order quantities do make it slightly prohibitive and I do t has the funds yet or want to take the risk and order £10k worth of wheels to hold as stock. I am happy to entertain a group buy if enough people showed genuine interest.

Actually the wheel diameter and width sizes only measure to the inside of the lip (or bead). It's a general rule that so called 18" rims are actually 19" overall diameter and 8.5" wide wheels will be 9.5" at their widest outside lip. See below for diagram.

To answer your question though, 225/40/18 tyres fit snugly onto 8.5" wide wheels with minimal stretch. Check out here for options on tyres: http://www.tyrestretch.com/
