New battery needed so thinking of going lightweight....
« on: January 14, 2012, 12:04:23 pm »
Does anybody have any experience of lightweight batteries, my current standard battery has completely given up life so thought it will be a good opportunity to upgrade to a Braille/Odyssey battery.

The plan is to keep the battery in the original location and somehow fasten it down (Strong velcro/straps), can anyone recommend  a quality battery that will last longer than 4-5 days if sat unused. I have my eye on a Odyssey Extreme Racing 40 Battery but If i'm honest I don't know what I should be looking for.

Any ideas?  :drinking:

Thanks Mike, did you switch your braille over for the tomika even though they are essentially the same and are you still using that strong velcro to hold it down?  :happy2:

They're identical.  The only reason I swapped was to try and get to the bottom of a pesky misfire that tuned out to be injector 3.

I got a roll of the heavy duty self adhesive Velcro but long term or on track would recomend / suggest a lightweight bracket fabricated in case of a crash.

Ahh I see, do you happen to still have your Braille or did you literally exchange them. Hopefully Steve P will comment about his experience with the Odyssey as from what I've read the extreme racing 40 is one of the strongest so hopefully I won't have any issues with leaving it parked up for a while.
